New Scout Hall For Strathfieldsaye Recreation Reserve

The 1st Strathfieldsaye Scout Hall will soon call Strathfieldsaye Recreation Reserve its permanent home through continued funding from the Andrews Labor Government to upgrade Scout Halls across the state.

Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman and Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan today turned the first sod at the new site of the Strathfieldsaye Scout Hall, which has been supported by a $125,000 contribution from the Government.

The total investment for the project is $250,000 inclusive of funding from Scouts Victoria.

The Scout Hall will be a safe and accessible space for 1st Strathfieldsaye Scout Group to permanently meet for scouting activities and to participate in the adventures that scouting has to offer.

The funding contributed is part of the Labor Government’s 2018 election commitment of $5.5 million over four years to build, upgrade or refurbish Scout Halls across Victoria.

Scouts Victoria is one of the state’s largest youth organisations and has a membership base of more than 20,000 young people and 5,000 adult volunteers.

Scouts Victoria has a rich history of fostering teamwork, care for community and leadership skills among young Victorians. Access to the range of activities that scouting offers supports young people’s development and growth by creating opportunities for them to lead by example in their communities.
