Serving Up New Change Rooms For North Sunshine Tennis
The North Sunshine Tennis Club’s ace pavilion upgrades are now complete as well as a new online court booking system, thanks to support from the Allan Labor Government.
Member for St Albans Natalie Suleyman and Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today visited the venue to officially open the new facilities backed by a more than $200,000 investment from the Labor Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The new pavilion features two new female friendly change rooms, new baby change facilities, and a kitchen and kiosk upgrade – making it easier and more accessible for teams, players and visitors to enjoy the precinct.
With more than 160 club members, the new facilities provide a welcoming new space for even more local fans of the game to join in the fun at the North Sunshine Tennis Club.
The club’s new Book-A-Court online system also gives the local Sunshine community the opportunity to book courts throughout the week– helping even more community members to enjoy local tennis.
The upgrades mean the facility can now host more training, development programs including junior Hot Shots Tennis, casual play and tournaments.
The Victorian Budget 2024/25 is investing more than $23 million to provide new and improved community sports infrastructure and initiatives that boost participation and inclusion in local sports clubs - including $5 million to continue the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
From playground redevelopments to new sporting hubs, investments like these provide high-quality and accessible places for Victorians to reap the benefits of sport and active recreation.
These projects are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
The Labor Government has invested more than $1.9 billion in community sport and active recreation since 2014.
The joint project was also contributed to by Brimbank City Council and North Sunshine Tennis Club.
